Selling yours?

Type the car and what you’re thinking. We’ll say what to list it at.

What listings don't show. We find it.

Our own data

How long has it really been for sale?

Dealers repost cars to look new. We dig up the day its photos first went up.

Our own model

What does an old car really lose a year?

Listings count a car on a renewed COE as worth $0 when it ends. Our own model, built on the whole market, says what it’s really worth.

Our own judgment

Which one should I pick?

Not just the cheapest. We weigh cost, age, mileage, owners and more, like a friend who knows cars.

Questions

How do you choose the top pick?

The way a friend who knows cars would. We weigh what each car loses a year against its age, mileage, owners and how long it has sat unsold. The cheapest a year doesn’t always win, and every pick comes with its reason.

Why do some cars cost less a year here than on sgcarmart?

sgcarmart counts a car as worth only its PARF rebate when its COE runs out, which for an older car is often nothing. Plenty still sell for real money after that: a Porsche 911, a Civic Type R, a car on a renewed COE. We count what cars like it really sell for, so a car that holds its value doesn’t look dearer than it is. For most everyday cars the two agree.

How long has a car really been for sale?

Often longer than the listing says. Dealers repost cars so they look new, and the date starts again. We go by when the car’s photos first went up. A car that has sat for months usually has room to bargain.

What should I offer?

Every car comes with a suggested offer, a place to start the talk. It’s lower the longer the car has sat unsold, and lower again when it’s priced above similar cars.

Can I get a message when a price drops?

Yes, on Telegram. Tap “Alerts” on any search and our bot messages you each morning when a car in it drops its price or a new one is listed.

How are the price cuts and best buys picked?

Every day we read the price of every used car on sgcarmart, so both rows change daily.

Price cuts are the week’s biggest real drops. Best buys are the cars that lose the least a year against similar ones, by our true depreciation (what you pay, less what it’s worth when the COE ends, per year).

Is it free? Who’s behind it?

Free, with no sign-up and no ads. Carkaki is independent: it isn’t part of sgcarmart and doesn’t sell cars. It’s made in Singapore by Phil.
